This is my blog where I write about communication that changes the way we live in different parts of the world. Its still evolving as I get used to it, so bear with me – any comments welcome.

I use communication to address conflict, reduce social tensions and support development. I’ve lived and worked in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Uganda and the UK as an advisor to aid agencies like DFID and the UN, the military, and civil society organisations.

I’m passionate about the ways that new media, especially mobile phones, are transforming peoples’ lives and the implications for how people manage change in their lives, especially their relationship with government.

And why communicare? Well, I believe that real communication is not just one way, but a two way process – telling and listening. Too often communication fails because listening is missing.
