Over at at always interesting ICT4Peace , Sanjana blogs about how the increasingly useful collaboration and communication tools of Ushahidi, Managing News and SlingshotSMS are constrained by the complexity of operation and deployment, and argues for moves towards cloudcomputing versions to increase accessibility.
What struck me was the comments that followed:
Disregarding the humour in the actual exchange, it raises a number of questions:
- How does a community of practice support the development of an individual organisations initiative
- Should an organisation like Ushahidi, built around the idea of crowd sourcing, apply that principle to its development process?
- And how much patience does a grasshopper actually have?
